Q: How long does the UV coating last? A: UV Cured floor coatings are formulated to be a long-term low maintenance floor coating solution. Simple cleaning and maintenance steps can be taken to help prolong the life of the coating. It is very important to adhere to the "Use and Care" guidelines to maximize the life of the coating.
Q: Can I remove the coating? A: Yes, but the coating is designed to be permanent. The only way to remove it is by sanding it off.
Q: Can I apply the coating myself? A: No and Yes. The coating must be installed by a trained professional. After the coating is applied, it must be cured by specialized curing equipment that is only available from UV Cured. Some customers elect to take our training course and purchase our equipment.
Q: Can the coating be repaired? A: Yes. Individual tiles or groups of tiles can be taped off, sanded and recoated.
Q: Is it slippery? A: Our coating meets and exceeds industry standards for slip resistance.
Q: Will it yellow? A: Our coatings are formulated to not yellow. We use the highest quality aliphatic urethane. Over time, any coating exposed to direct sunlight will begin to show signs of discoloration.
Q: Does it stain? A: The coating is extremely stain resistant to many chemicals. Consult our chemical resistance guide.
Q: What can I do if the coating begins to lose its gloss? A: Our coatings can be polished using our HD Citrus Cleaner and a cotton pad on a low speed floor machine. For deep scratches, our UV Cured’s Restorer can be used to fill the deeper scratches and restore the shine.
Q: What is UV Cured’s Restorer? A: Our floor Restorer is a high performance water based urethane coating that is formulated to be easily applied and maintained with traditional floor care equipment. The coating can be installed by the customer at a cost of just pennies per square foot.
Q: Do the UV coatings smell? A: There is a slight odor. Once the coating is cured, the odor is eliminated.
Q: Are the UV coatings harmful to the environment? A: No. Our water based and 100% solids coatings contain no harmful solvents. They are truly GREEN coatings.
